Mrs. Taunton sets the standard for what it means to go above and beyond for both staff and students. Through leadership, support, and a genuine commitment to our school community, she creates an environment where everyone is challenged to grow and succeed. Mrs. Taunton's dedication doesn’t stop at the school doors, it’s reflected in the time, care, and effort invested in making our school a place where people feel valued and supported every day.

Who knew that a reading assessment could be so much fun?

It's School Lunch Hero Day! Thank you BMS School Lunch Heroes for the care you spend daily ensuring that students and staff are provided a nutritious meal.

As a follow-up to our unit on energy transformations, Pod 8.3 headed out for an incredible field experience at the Jim Woodruff Dam. Our 8th graders got an up-close look at the massive hydroelectric components they’ve been studying in class.
The students especially loved watching the local wildlife gathered on the south side of the dam where the water is released! 🦅 Seeing these energy concepts in action at the dam made the science truly "click." We capped off the day with a perfect picnic lunch overlooking Lake Seminole. ☀️🥪

Computer Science classes at BMS are enjoying Georgia Tech professors teaching via Zoom this week as they zoom introduce us to how sensors can be coded to let you know when your plants need water. They are even coding sensors to create self watering plants!

Thank you to all bus drivers! You are truly appreciated.

Pod 8.2 would like to extend a HUGE thank you to Mr. Roland Hancock for sponsoring our very first Academic Decathlon. His support was a powerful reminder that when the community shows up for the classroom, the impossible truly becomes possible.
As we prepare for the start of Georgia Milestones testing next week, our students came together to compete in 12 academic stations and 6 fun, trivia-based challenges. This experience was designed to reinforce key skills, boost confidence, and make learning both meaningful and enjoyable ahead of a week that can often feel stressful.
A huge thank you as well to our incredible student volunteers from the BHS Anchor Club, Basketball Cheer team, and Key Club. Their time, energy, and leadership helped make this event a success!
