After researching ticks and creating models with Play-Doh and Tinkercad 3-D printing, students learned about local ticks and diseases found in Georgia, including Chagas Disease and Lyme Disease. Students learned important scientific concepts such as:
🦠 Pathogens
🦟 Vectors
🐭 Reservoirs
🧬 PCR & DNA
✅ Tick prevention and safe removal methods
We love bringing real-world science and career connections into the classroom. We can't wait for Professor Matthew's next visit!
Special thanks to Dr. Kirkland, Executive Director of ABAC Bainbridge, for supporting this partnership.

For the past few weeks, students in Mr. Perry’s Science Class have been exploring the incredible world of SPACE!
Our young astronomers chose a planet, researched it, and completed a project to show off what they’ve learned. They put their knowledge, creativity, and love for science on full display! 🔭📚
A HUGE THANK YOU to Mrs. Teresa with 4-H for coming in and giving us an AWESOME lab on Space Rocks! ☄️🪨 Who knew space rocks could be SO TASTY?! 😋🚀
From planets to meteors and everything in between, these young astronomers have been busy exploring, learning, and discovering!
Let’s just say… these astronomers are READY for their next mission!
They’ve learned. They’ve explored. Now it’s time to LIFT OFF!

New Teacher Induction with Dr. Gardner went extremely well! Our newest educators spent time connecting, laughing, learning, and building a strong foundation for the year ahead.
We’re committed to making sure our new Bearcats feel welcomed, encouraged, and supported throughout their first year in education.
Because when you’re a Bearcat, you’re never in it alone. That’s the Bearcat Way! 💜💛🐾

📚 Get Ready to Kick off Georgia Reads Week! 💜💛
Reading together is one of the simplest ways to build vocabulary, spark imagination, and create meaningful connections with children. Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, educator, community member, or friend—you can be part of building a stronger culture of literacy.
Grab a book, share a story, and help us show that WE CAN READ! 📖🐾
